I remember the original Paladin leveling experience in Classic, and that I wished to use a class I was familiar with in both versions of this game on mywowgold. Paladins are not the speediest levelers in Classic, but they have excellent survivability. They are also capable of fulfilling all three of the game's main roles (DPS, healing, tanking) while trimming in both Classic and Retail.

My aim with this collection of posts would be to evaluate the leveling and game encounter between Classic and Retail, without taking advantage of some of the extra bonuses Retail players may use to level faster. Retail WoW offers Heirloom gear -- things that increase in amount each time you do. The amount of experience you earn also increases. My Retail playthrough does not use these items. Gear is not crafted by me for my Paladin using a personality that is different. This usually means that my Paladin will not level as quickly as a player with alts is very likely today, to level. My goal, however, is not to compare the experience of playing WoW with a lot of alts, but to compare the way the game feels and plays a new player experiencing the game for the very first time in both versions. I've met folks in Classic and Retail undergoing WoW for the first time in 2019.

I've sought to replicate my play-through that was initial in the details I can recall. I've spent time in match but I handle the livelihood leveling at natural down points. I've avoided going Away From Keyboard (AFK) on character to ensure my leveling rate measurements remain true. I log out, if I want to go AFK.

I have employed no add-ons for my Lvl 1-20 encounter. While I played with add-ons as an endgame Vanilla raider, there weren't very many accessible when I was leveling in the first parts of Classic, also that I wished to replicate my experience as tightly as possible.Finally, please keep in mind this is a leveling contrast that specifically focuses on Lvl 1-20. It's not a comparison or a DPS/tanking comparison. It is not an raid comparison with cheapest wow classic gold. As they are applicable in future articles, I'll address each one of these issues.
