This drive for information and a better way to understand it has given birth the huge market of Data science. Nowhere in the world is data science more sought of a skill then perhaps in Asia. Asia has always been a leading force behind innovation, especially in the technology field. As the world transitions into a newer more advanced self, Asia intends to maintain its position as an industry leader. How it intendeds to do this is by offering a lot of opportunities for skilled individuals; namely Data Scientists.
The science of data is the dominant intellectual force behind technological advancement and expanded human behavior. The data produced by one person over the course of one day is so vast that it cannot be inspected with just human logic. This data offers insight into how society interacts with technology. As an example we can take texting. While it seems trivial on the surface to "analyse texting,” it is a highly complex and robust issue. Texting between people can offer incredibly deep insight into how the human mind subconsciously works. The frequency with which we text our loved ones, the frequency that we get texted back, the language we use, the emojis we use and so on; the parameters are ever-evolving.
Granted, this kind of data siphoning breeds a lot of push-back from the public, as we can see in the case with Facebook and their data privacy infringements. Nevertheless, the industry grows, the amount of data grows, the opportunity grows. Recently, with the introduction of blockchain technology, among other new tech innovations, Asia has commandeered a program that attracts the best scientists of data.
Asia offer a diverse and dense population, resulting in all the more data for observation. As their regimes change and more people come online, the governments within Asia's geography realize the potential of the technology industry and in turn offer one of (if not the) highest job demand/placement environments for any good data scientist. It is critical to know what goes into the "knowledge toolkit: of a data scientists: Programming language proficiency, Quantitative and qualitative analysis, Game theory, Mathematics, and of course strong theory in computer science. No wonder these elites are being recruited on the International level.
Asia presents some of the most advanced nations in the world, when it comes to technology. Korea, Japan, Singapore, Philippians, United Arab Emirates are all part of the Asian market ecology. All heavily financed, all developed and developing, all interesting in leading the front on tech.
Any scientist interesting in exploring cryptocurrency, blockchain, or big data; it is your time to help progress the world into a better self. Does this mean that all data scientists should swarm to Asia in search of opportunity. Not necessarily, but the opportunity is there for them, at least for now.
