We all know that pest control sprays help a lot in curbing pest population but one drawback is that most pests end up harming not only the pests but also the plants. The pests can also prove harmful for your pets and children. So before you bring in the Pest Control Canberra Company to take care of your bug problem you can try out some home remedies as well. These home sprays consist of ingredients that are easily available and they actually work against bugs very well.

Let us check out pest control sprays that you can easily make yourself:

Take 2 teaspoon pepper, 2 cloves of garlic, a little amount of liquid soap and water. Grind the pepper and garlic together and mix it well with water. Strain this mixture and fill it in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on your plants. Remember, that you would need to apply this mixture every time there is a heavy rain fall. This spray can be used as an all purpose pest spray. This spray also helps in keeping rabbits away.

Take 2 tablespoon of soap flakes, 2 liters water (make sure it is warm). Mix the soap flakes in water and apply the spray to the areas that have been affected by the bugs. Use this spray every 5-6 days, but keep in mind that too much soap can cause damage to your plants as well. Use this spray to kill aphids, spider mites and white flies.

Take 10-15 cloves of garlic and mince them well. Take 2 teaspoon of mineral oil, 500 ml of water and 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap. Place the minced garlic in the mineral oil for around 24 hours. Now strain the oil and remove the garlic, mix the oil with water and liquid soap. Mix it really well and spray on your plants. This spray too works wonders against white flies, spider mites and aphids.

This homemade spray will help protect your plants from mildew and black spot. Take 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 1 liter of water, 1 teaspoon of soap flakes. Mix the baking soda with the water; now add the soap flakes as they will help the mixture cling to the leaves better. Remove the leaves that are already affected, and then spray the rest of the plant well, this will prevent the bugs from coming back.

You can also make a handy pest trap to get rid of gnats and fruit flies etc. Take 1 or 2 tablespoon of non petroleum jelly. Take a plastic card or cardboard card and some water proof bright yellow paint. Paint the card with the yellow paint on both the sides. When the paint dries, apply the non petroleum jelly liberally over the card over both the sides. Now place the card like a canopy over the plant.

These homemade pest control sprays won’t cost you much either; it will hardly be around $6 to $8. Imagine the dollars you’ll save and also be able to protect your plants from the bugs. Using these homemade sprays will also help you protect your pets, children and plants from the harmful chemicals that pest control company use in their pest sprays.
