google news

This week is all about Google updates: Google for business requieres primary category, Google AdWords will remove for good ads, campaigns and ad groups and Google search will start consider facts over links.
1. Google My Business Categories Now Requires A Primary Category – Google defines the primary category as “the one category that best represents the business”. According to John wang from Google, if you have multiple types of locations (e.g. sub-brands, departments, etc), this rule only applies within each of these sub-groups”.
2. AdWords Spring Cleaning Coming: Detritus Be Gone, But You’ll Have to Think Before You Remove – Starting with March 23, Google will remove all the ads with 0 impressions, removed for more than 100 days. The same will happen to ad groups and campaigns later in the year. The only thing you will still be able to edit will be to add and remove labels. The campaigns and ad groups will not be available for activation after removal.
3. Google wants to rank websites based on facts not links – because the internet is filled with false news and articles with catchy titles attracting clicks and delivering little to no value to its readers, Google decided to start ranking websites according to their truthfulness. The update(not live yet) will calculate the trustworthiness of a page by comparing it with the Knowledge Vault where Google keeps all the facts from accross the web.
Have a productive week ahead!
