Digital Hero Steve Linthicum Advances Community Colleges' Role in Cybersecurity Education

Junior colleges assume an extraordinary part in filling a large number of open network safety positions across California, and Steve Linthicum is at the cutting edge of assisting understudies with making the pathways that will prompt steady, well-paying jobs. Linthicum is the Regional Director for Industry Engagement in Orange County for the Information Communications Technologies/Digital Media (ICT-DM) area of California Community Colleges. In that job, he brings accomplices from schooling and industry together to meet basic labor force needs, similar to the one that exists in network safety.

Prior to his present job, Linthicum went through almost 20 years as a teacher at Sierra College in Rocklin, where he saw firsthand the important job that junior colleges play in satisfying consistently changing labor force needs. Since we can change our courses rapidly, not being contracted by the educational plan alteration computer engineering vs computer science schools and colleges face, we can train what we should instruct in this quick advancement of advances," Linthicum said.

Linthicum started consolidating network safety into his courses in the last part of the 1990s, with attention on Microsoft Windows and Novell Netware security. In those days, he says, protection and security were to a great extent overlooked on the grounds that PCs were not organized. The expansion of virtual machines in the years has made encouraging complex systems administration and different exercises a lot simpler.
