How to recreate your salon look at home

As a stylist at Tresses Hair and body, part of our job is to make people feel good about themselves, but it’s important that our clients feel amazing and confident not just on the day they get their hair done, but every day. If only we were given a dollar for every time we hear a friend say 'if I win lotto I would have my own personal hair stylist come each and every day'.
The first thing you need to do is discuss with your stylist if the look he/she is about to create is something you will be able to maintain and what is involved in styling your new ‘do’.
Are you someone that enjoys doing hair? Is this look high maintenance? Do you have the right tools and what styling products will assist in creating the look? These are all things you need to consider before taking the plunge.
My biggest tip for you to feel at the top of your game is to copy, copy, and copy! Look at the tools your stylist uses. Ask if you can purchase the same hairdryer if you don’t already have a good quality one.A good hairdryer is so important especially for difficult, thick frizzy or coarse hair. It can reduce drying time, assist in smoothing, increase longevity of your blow-dry and just make the experience less of a chore.
Brushes are another important tool and in this instance size does matter! Don’t go too small, it can create unnecessary waves and curl. You may want body but it’s all about direction. Again copy, copy, and copy! Watch your stylist and ask questions. Stylists are picky about what they use and there is normally a good reason why.
Now for the fun part...Products!
If you don’t already have the absolute must haves being a leave-in moisturiser, a finishing product and a quality treatment then you need more help than I thought! Just kidding...but seriously life is so much easier with these little treasures.
Aromas Smoothing Straightening Crème, Repl.ends Leave-in Moisturiser or Aromas Ends Therapy being my top picks. Even the most porous hair feels manageable after using one of these little gems. Fine, medium or coarse, all hair needs moisture and a little smoothing to assist in styling. Finishing with Aromas Oil Spray or Aromas Oil can mean the difference between hair that lasts all day and hair that still has a bit of frizz.
So you’ve gone this far, why wouldn’t you finish the job properly?
A finishing product can be a wax, hair spray or even some Done .n. Dusted; whatever it is the jobs not done until it’s done!
Good luck with these tips and tricks- Until next time
